The Joy


This is what I saw at the spot where I walked onto the sand this morning.

Do you ever feel like goodness and joy and comfort are there just waiting for you? That you didn't really do anything, but all that abundance drops at your feet anyway?

And when someone says "Hi," do you say hello back?

    I think it depends on where you live. I say hi to people on the walking trail in Seattle, and they look right through me. Something to do with the Scandinavian heritage of reserve, I have read.

    Lately I've been thinking about the Rumi line, "What you seek is seeking you." (I quote from memory.) This sounds like that, doesn't it?

It's a weird way to have a conversation. But go ahead. Then I'll find your blog (if you have one) and comment about something there. We probably won't be talking about the same thing--but I've had conversations like that, haven't you?
