Thursday Afternoon Beach Report

How about some song lyrics to go with that?

I hear the ancient footsteps like the motion of the sea
Sometimes I turn, there's someone there, other times it's only me.
I am hanging in the balance of a perfect finished plan
Like every sparrow falling, like every grain of sand

--from Every Grain of Sand (Wrecking Ball, Emmylou Harris)  I think Dylan wrote it.

I realized tonight that I seldom listen to music these days. My mom can't really hear it...so it seems weird and selfish to do so. And I can't hear her if she needs me if I have music on.

  1. Sometimes I literally can't listen to music. It's jarring to my ears. I crave silence.

  2. I rarely listen to it either and feel the poorer for it.

  3. That's a shame. Music does wonders for my outlook on life.

  4. I miss loving music. Sadly, we just don't play it anymore. I also don't know how to load an MP3 player. That technology has passed me by.

It's a weird way to have a conversation. But go ahead. Then I'll find your blog (if you have one) and comment about something there. We probably won't be talking about the same thing--but I've had conversations like that, haven't you?
